Thermal oxidizer fueled by biogas for 2 French fry lines

No potato processing without thermal oxidizers. This time, however, one that fully processes all the biogas generated on site. Two solutions in one—for lower emissions and stable production.

Biogas as a partial fuel source

What makes this installation truly stand out is the use of biogas as a (partial) fuel. Generated by the factory’s own processes, the biogas is supplemented with natural gas whenever the biogas flow is insufficient. This guarantees steady, 100% secured production.

Odor control: a must in potato processing

The two new French fry lines would cause excessive odor emissions. Even though this site is located outside residential zones, odor control remains essential—for both compliance with environmental standards and the company’s reputation.

The thermal oxidizer processes 40,000 Nm³/h of baking fumes and is already the sixth Optimum solution installed for this client. The previous five—spread across various locations—have proven their efficiency and reliability over decades of production.

With this choice, the potato processor opted for the most advanced odor control technology available on the market, tailor-made for the food industry.
